Television is one of the most popular entertainment device. Nowadays everyone from child to Adults watch television and it is now an essential part of most of the home.

Now a small revolutionary device has been invented, which will convert a TV into Personal Computer. This device is named Raspberry pi. It is a credit card sized single board computer developed in UK by Raspberry Pi Foundation and the interesting part is that it is available only on 16 Pounds. The Raspberry Pi has a Broadcom BCM2835 system on a chip (SoC), which includes an ARM1176JZF-S 700 MHz processor, VideoCore IV GPU, and 256 megabytes of RAM. It does not include a built-in hard disk or solid-state drive, but uses an SD card for booting and long-term storage. You have to connect keyboard and mouse through this device with the TV. Through Cable TV, internet can also be used with it. It can be connected with other devices through USB ports.

Raspberry pi is a minicomputer and since it is very cheap, so anyone can buy it. Connect it with your TV and use it like a desktop computer. It is 85.60 × 53.98 mm in size and has a weight of 45 grams and it can be used with every TV. Now you can watch HD videos on your own Television.

Raspberry pi can be used for educational purposes in Schools, Colleges and Universities.

For high performance, you must have to buy the more powerful device and it costs up to 22 pounds. It operates on linux OS as it is free OS and also Virus don’t easy effect it. Basically the purpose of this device is to make those people only having TV at their home and don’t afford Computers yet, so those people can use their TV as Computer now. This device is going to be more advance in the near future.
